Different commercial properties have different requirements, but they have this in common: they all need a roof that provides long-term protection against the elements. Commercial roofer, Designer Roofing & Restoration LLC, shares an overview of our commercial roofing options.
Low Slope Roofing
Low slope roofing is ideal for properties with large floor areas. There are several options, which can be categorized into two categories: multiple-ply and single-ply. Traditional roofing systems are built with multiple layers of material installed over the roofing substrate. For instance, built-up roofing (BUR) consists of alternating layers of reinforcing fabric and bitumen, topped with loose stone or gravel. A modified bitumen roof is similar to a multiple-ply roofing system, but is covered with a fiberglass or similar material instead of aggregate.
In comparison, single-ply roofing consists of a single layer of material laid over the substrate. Typically made of TPO or EPDM – also called plastic and rubber roofing, respectively – single-ply roofing is installed like a giant blanket. Sheets of material are welded together using heat or adhesive. If installed properly, you won’t have to worry about a leaking roof for a long time. Low slope single-ply roofing can either be loosely laid and weighed down with ballast, or adhered to the substrate using special adhesives.
Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Asphalt shingles are associated with residential installations, but they work equally well in commercial properties with sloped roofs. We are both a CertainTeed® SELECT ShingleMaster™ and a GAF-certified contractor. We are authorized to offer industry-leading roofing systems from these manufacturers, along with all applicable material and workmanship warranties.
Metal roofing is durable, energy-efficient and long lasting. They are perfect for areas where airborne debris and hailstones are a common problem as it does not shatter, crack or split upon impact. You can choose from virtually any color, which makes it perfect if you want to use your brand colors or if you want to take advantage of the benefits of “cool roofs”. With proper care and maintenance, commercial metal roofs can last over 50 years. The paint finishes on our metal roofs feature up to 40 years warranty coverage in addition to applicable material and workmanship coverage.
